Dr. Clint Wright was born in Bartow, Florida on November 19, 1952. He and his wife Debra lived in Winter Haven and have two grown daughters, Debra Latoya and Ashlee Maree. Dr. Wright graduated from Bartow High School in 1971 and attended Florida Memorial University where he revieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies. He recieved his Masters of Education from Rollins College in 1978 and his Educational Doctorate in 1993 from Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Wright has been a Teacher, a Assistant Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent while also being an Adjuct Professor at St. Leo University and Webber International College. His awards are numerous, but to name a few Dr. Wright has been named Florida High School Principal of the Year, Boss of the Year by the American Business Women's Association, listen in th "Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities" has been the recipient of the National Association for Colored People Beacon Ward, Lucy DuCharme Humanitarian Award, a finalist for the Ida S. Baker Distinguished Minority Educator, recieved the "Heart of Hearts" award for "Educational Leadership to Women" and the Martin Luther King "Living Legacy Award" for diversity education, political activism and his educational leadership. He was also inducted into the 23rd Annual Polk County Schools Hall Of Fame and the Bartow, Florida Hall of Fame. Dr. Wright was a well known motivational speaker locally as well as nationally. His candid and down to earth deliveries open numberous doors for him to exercise the gift of skillful communicator. He has spoken in classrooms to boardrooms. He would frequently speak to students regarding staying in school and continuing their higher education. He also spoke routinely to student in the juvenile justice system regarding career paths and educational oppournities. Dr. Wright was a great believer in living your dream and he spent a liftime motivating and inspiring other to achieve their goals and aspirations. |
